| Option | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|

| Flight nanny | $1,500 | A person flies with your puppy in the cabin |
| Pickup in San Diego | No delivery cost | Best if you can travel to us |
Florida is too far for a comfortable drive with a young puppy, so most families choose a flight nanny, who flies with the puppy in the cabin to Orlando, Miami or another major airport. The full process is on our Boxer puppy delivery and pickup page.
Caring for a Boxer puppy in Florida's weather
Florida heat comes with high humidity almost all year, and humidity makes it harder for a short nosed dog to breathe and cool itself. Plan shorter, calmer outings, give plenty of fresh water and keep the air conditioning on indoors.
Hot sand and pavement can burn paws. Walk on grass or in shade, and rinse paws after beach trips because salt and sand irritate skin.
Hurricane season runs from June to November. Keep a crate, a week of food, medicine records and your puppy's microchip number in an emergency kit.
Seasons in Florida
- Spring is warm and a good time for socialization outings.
- Summer is hot, wet and stormy, so exercise indoors in the afternoon.
- Fall is still humid and carries hurricane risk.
- Winter is the most comfortable season for long walks.
Health risks to know in Florida
Heartworm, fleas, ticks and standing water parasites are year round concerns. Keep your puppy on a vet approved preventive all twelve months, and keep your puppy away from lake edges where alligators or algae may be present. For a full list of Boxer health topics, see the Boxer health guide.
